What is a Printed Painting?

I made an original painting, using printing inks - I use Akua Waterbased.  The drawing/painting is made onto a piece of zinc or acetate, then positioned onto damp printmaking paper which is prepared by placing in a water bath, drip-drying then positioning between blotting paper to remove any access water.

Once the paper is ready, the piece of zinc is registered on the press - (measured for placement).  The paper and the zinc is then rolled twice under my press.  Once finished, the print will be air-dried then placed under boards, then heavy books for up to three days to flatten.

To finish, I clean up my print, number and sign with my name, year date and number unless it's an original.

Once the finished peice is ready, I place the print onto some mountboard, wrap in clear wrap and prepare the packaging for sending out.
