Today I’m heading back into my studio. It’s been a while as I’ve had my adding my shoulder to the wheel on another project or two.
But at heart, I’m a painter and a painter must paint (or we go a bit nuts) so today I return to my studio. Radio, podcast or audiobook on - phone off or better still, left in the house.
The thing is how I bring the energy back?
It’s daunting to return to making work, new work especially. In this post, I’m stating that it’s hard, (obvs not impossible) to return to the drawing board/easel after time away, the flow is disrupted and I want to manhandle it back.
How best to do this? Well, for starters I’m going to ask a couple of other makers over social media - What are their tips?
I’ll then don my dungarees, leave the washing up, call the dog and depart for my painting space.
I’ll let you know how I get on...
