January, a month of fresh resolve for you, or month of hibernation? I tend to be a bit blue after the festivities, so this year, I’m going to run an ‘Everyone Can Draw’ workshop near to Woodbridge on Friday 11th January, with the sole aim of jollying ourselves up!
On a scale of 1 - 10 (1 being super-UNconfident & 10 being uber confident) How are your drawing skills? Give yourself a number. Then ask yourself when was the last time you did any drawing or painting? The truth of the matter is that it simply DOESN’T MATTER! How we view our skill is actually what holds us back - the main thing is to give yourself some time out and the permission to learn.
Every year, starting in September I run a 10 week course with Suffolk Coastal Leisure Learning (called ‘Everyone Can Draw’). I’m busy the rest of the year with my own paintings and my time for teaching is limited.
This recent course has reminded me how much I love sharing tips, exercises and skills which grow confidence in my students - in fact it’s been a brilliant course.
The upside of not teaching as much as I might like to, means that when I do, I’m fresh-faced and full of ideas to get others (advanced or beginner) motoring,
Our January drawing day is going to be held locally to Woodbridge and is pencilled in for Friday 11th January. 10am -3/4pm. Bring a packed lunch and any art materials you already have with you. Our venue is going to be confirmed soon.
Once again, ABSOLUTELY NO ART SKILLS ARE NECESSARY!
