I hope you are all well and have enjoyed wonderful summer months.
Really rested. I Downed my doggy-paint brushes and simply went outside to draw.
Now back to work proper, I have no plans, no dog painting commissions and a stack of paintings that I have loved making.
Non-agenda painting (if that doesn’t sound too arty) has lead to my making some new works that come from my tummy - not my head. I’m a Virgo, I love a plan and for years have strategised my time and orchestrated my campaigns with precision planning.
This summer, I binned my plans and followed my interests.
Returning to work now, I feel energised.
Happy with the works I’ve made (you can see a taster below). I’m not sure how I’m going to sell them - a show perhaps, gallery sales or perhaps via my website. I’m in no hurry to see them go. I want to frame them beautifully first using the stunning pallet wood frames I had made earlier in the year - sustainable and beautiful.
I’m in no hurry.
Again, a new experience for me.
This week I’m back to it and feel ripe & ready to go again. Making plans for my Christmas Dog Portrait Painting offers, I’ll be opening my books soon to take commissions, so if you are thinking you’d like one as a gift for the big Dec 25th, it’s a good idea to email me to register your interest.
For now though, I’m on a go-slow.
Me & my visiting dogs (I’m a registered home-boarder now) are off for a morning walk to Bawdsey, sketchbook in hand.
More soon, Sam x
I’d LOVE to hear how you are, has your summer left you feeling refreshed? Are you basking in some downtime now that the babes are back in school? Perhaps you postponed your much-needed break until term-time rolled around again…
