How Do New Year Resolutions Work For You? BE NICE to yourself.

2018 is Closing and 19 is Opening.   Anything you’d like to add - or to lose?

I am not a big NY Resolution girl, not in the enforced I WILL DO THIS way, I prefer to give myself options to take some things with me into the year that cometh, and lose others.

How do NY decisions work for you?

How do NY Resolutions Work For You? Bloom Creatively Blog by Samantha

On December 28th of 2018, I joined Slimming World.  I have NEVER been able to lose weight, only climb up to new numbers year on year.  This was something I decided to give myself time to do -  time to go to the sessions once a week on a Thursday evening at 7pm, for the whole year.

I slipped in to my first group meeting on the 28th so I was a few days in before New Years Eve. and my decision to join had already happened. I didn’t promise myself that I’d lose X pounds by X month, and I didn’t set myself a resolution that HAD to be done, I made a decision to simply give it a go.

Between my group attendance and the fabulous book that is The Marshmallow Test by Walter Mischel I clock in on the scales now at two and a half stones (30lbs) lighter.   (you may like to read this post)

I feel better yes, I’m definatly happier - but I’m not a different person, just me.

I suggest that we don’t give ourselves harsh, unrealistic goals and aims.  Only ones that support us, it’s healthier to entice ourselves, rather than implement something that will only make us feel crap if we don’t carry on with it.

Be kind on yourself.  Talk with yourself in the same way you might talk with a friend - the car is a good place for this.  Talk out loud. Ask yourself what you’d like to NOT carry on with and if there is anything what you might like to start.

Good luck my friend, remember, be nice to yourself.
