8.30am on Monday, a digger and oodles of cement are going to be delivered to my home. A dream is coming true for me, I’m having a new studio built in my garden - so why am I so sad?Read More

On our recent jaunts around the country to visit friends, we went by train. Super cheap, no arguments about what music on the stereo and no stops at the service stations that set me back at least a tenner per pee (via visits to the shop). What really got me thinking though, was the amount of dogs I saw on the trains, I didn’t even know this was a thing!Read More
Comparison, we all fall. Today I listened to a superb podcast episode by Kayte Ferris of Simple & Seaon, who has a new podcast called 'Grow With Soul'. Today she interviewed the very talented Kara Leigh Ford a ceramicist from Somerset and maker of some beautiful works. One of the subjects they covered was the brilliantly termed 'Comparisonitis'. I absolutely love to see dogs doing silly things but sometimes they are just not silly enough - to counteract this, I'm going all out silly woofers in a new collection of paintings I'm working on.
As I am sure you have recognised now, I'm a bit in love with my own dog, Barney and pretty much everyone else's too. I've always loved them, they just make me so happy.
With this in mind and from all the studying I have been doing for my bespoke dog portraits (www.ipaintdogs.com) I'm going to go doggier crazy and mix them into my paintings. Dog Groomers, Elvis Dogs, Dogs on a day out - all are in the planning stage but for now, I thought I'd show you some of the paintings I've just finished - you can see them under 'Fun Dog Paintings'.
Am utterly delighted to report that they are going down a storm.
Woof! Sam x
