Are You Currently On The Learn? The Possibilities are Endless, let's break them down.

When was the last time you learned something new?   I don’t say this in a smarmy way, more of a did you know that learning something new, does us a POWER of good?

Are you on the learn? The Possibilities are endless. BloomCreatively Blog post by Samantha Barnes.com

I’m always on the learn.  I love to listen to podcasts, attend new workshops (recently ceramics) when I can and extend my inner-book of knowledge.  This has only happened over the past few years now that my business is sustainable and my children are older - there was no chance of doing any CPD (Continued Professional Development) then.

Now that the internet is a solid place to explore new options - what is stopping us from learning more?

A quick search online and I’ve found that I can learn the basics of basket-weaving, speaking Italian and cooking indian food.   There are endless possibilities, I find them a little daunting.

So, here an exercise might help.

Let’s grab a piece of paper and write out 8 - 10 activities that you have done in your life (no matter how long ago, school is fine) and enjoyed.

Mine are:

Woodwork 5

French Lessons 6

Ceramics & pottery 7

Screen Printing 9

Horse riding 8

Photography 7

Singing 9

Drama - being involved in school productions 9

Now let’s put a grade out of 10 by them.  1 being low, the 10 being high - how much did you enjoy those activities?    List below your top three

As you can see from mine, I enjoyed

Screen Printing

Singing

Drama

We now have a clear indication of which three things I might like to take up again.  Now is the time to research online, I’m going to look online to see what’s local to me, whichever of these three things it is, I’m going to look at more closely.

So now, over to you.

How is your list looking?  I’d love to know.

Samantha

Ps.  I’ve just completed my Diploma in Coaching Skills which am chuffed about, more importantly, I learnt so much doing it.
