How could they not symbolise the above? Romantically round blooms of ruffled feathers, these flowers are beautiful.
Darn hard to paint though! I struggled with the detail in each bloom. Drawing them much in preparation, I took to my canvas and spent hours painting, then painting over them again - before lifting my printing squeegee and moving large amounts of wet paint to get closer to the feel of the flower.
Due to the layers of paint underneath, I found my way in the end!
This painting has a contemporary feel and is fresh with the flowers being on a white background.
It is 100 x 100cm on a deep box canvas.
