Here Is How This Summer’s Two-Day Immersive Art Workshops Are Going…
In short, brilliantly.
Firstly, what are they?
Well, in March of this year, I wrote to my clients asking if they would be interested in spending two days with me in my studio, painting, drawing and/or printmaking. These would be a deep-dive teaching experience, in an intimate group setting.
I set dates for four two-day sessions. One in April, another in June, July, and lastly September. £380 per person including lunch on both days and refreshments.
All 12 spaces were booked up within 72 hours of writing to my clients about them, and I have a waiting list.
This told me that
A: There is a demand for them.
B: People are keen for guidance in their art - whichever stage they are at, beginner or advance.
C: People love to come to my studio.
So here is the thing with workshops, I don’t like to take photographs during them. To me, this is a time of gentle growth, so I don’t like to interrupt the flow with taking images.
However, each participant so far has happily agreed to my doing a short video testimonial at the end of our time together. These short films are both informative, and insightful, you can see them all here
In just less than three weeks, I’ll be running the third of these four workshops. What I have learned so far is that time for creative engagement is key. By having not one, but two days, much can be accomplished. (I learned this myself when I joined a painting weekend away recently too - you can read this blog post here)
Anytime spent doing something creative is worthwhile. Connecting with these workshop attendees to share how my own art practice works, people leave inspired to continue working on their projects and paintings on their own. The inspiration spark has been lit and I can’t wait to see where this takes each person that comes along.
I’ll be planning some more workshops soon, weaving in some one-day events, a legendary Art-Lunch or two as well. Those on my mailing list will always be the first to hear of these events, to make sure you don’t forget to add yourself to it here, I’d love to keep in touch.
Much love
