What photographs do I need from you?
Your favourite photographs. Images that you feel most represent your dog, no matter what the age was when you took it - send it over to me.
Some clients like to make a Google Photos Share Album (a very simple process that you create and I can access); others like to WhatsApp me so we can send images phone to phone. (I send you my number)
Photographs and short films of your dogs are welcome. Films are wonderful as I can pause and draw from them for action studies.
Emailed photographs are of course fine too.
Anywhich way thatworks for you, works for me.
How Many Photos?
Some clients send me just 6-8, others send over 30+. The more imagery you give me to work from, the wider the choice we have in bringing your dog onto the canvas. They do not need to be of beautiful quality, just snaps is fine.

FRAMING YOUR PAINTING
Framing can be expensive, so I have super-sleuthed the best ways to make our painting sing, with or without a budget.
WHEN SENDING MY PAINTINGS OVERSEAS: I roll and tube my canvases.
This is by far the safest way to prevent damage during transit; it’s also the most cost-effective. Sending a flat, framed painting can be as expensive as the actual painting itself, and that’s just the delivery (though I can organise this for you if you would like me to).
When your painting arrives home, your local framer can do one of two things for you:
Stretch our canvas over wooden stretchers. These are wooden bars; our painting can then go straight on your wall, stretched and unframed. Your framer can also make a frame to go around our stretched painting.
Panel Mount. This is where your framer will glue our painting (using acid free framing glue so it will never damage the artwork) onto a piece of hardboard. This is a more cost-effective solution. Our painting, now happily on its panel, can then be popped into a tray frame (a lovely thing to do is to have it sitting on a raised platform in the middle of the tray frame - the shadows look lovely). Working this way means that for the cost of the option 1 (using wooden stretchers) you get our painting framed too.
My thoughts.
Some people don’t like the Panel Mounting option, but I have zero problem with it, especially if it’s done by a professional framer who will use the right archival tools.
A professional framer will guide you as to which is the best option for you. Please do talk to them about your budget, though as framing costs can run away with us. I’ll be making some little graphic drawings soon to illustrate these two ways of framing soon
