I adore Lavender and have many of these beautifully scented plant around my home, particularly around the entrance. Great for the bees and our own wellbeing - and besides all of that they are UTTERLY beautiful.
I wanted to make a study of these flowers and began small with this painting here. Once happy with the way that one was heading, I moved onto this bigger deep-box .canvas here at 60 x 60cm.
Enjoying working bigger I eventually became ready to move onto my 100 x 100cm painting which has now sold.
This painting, the 60 x 60cm was made in the middle of the series of the three works.
