Sometimes Collections Of New Artworks Just Appear….

Last week I made some inky words for an instagram post.

They were based around positive thoughts for artists - not affirmations as such, just words of encouragement from my studio. I made two signs in thick indian ink on cartridge paper and put them in some frames that I had purchased recently from Facebook Marketplace (super unglamorous ones, 12 for £15 in total, A2 size)

I made my post which you can see here and pressed go at my usual time.

Unexpectedly, I was asked if I might sell my signs and send them along in the post.

I’m rarely flummoxed but this one really caught me! Happily so of course.

But what to charge? A tube in the post within the UK is £11, time, art materials and costs - and the pile of signs on the floor that didn’t work because of course, not all of them do.

I’m coming to around the £48 mark - including postage but this is to be settled.

However, my point is that we NEVER know where our next collection might spring from.

Watch out for unexpected surprises, my friends, sometimes they come and meet you at your doorstep, literally.
