Gently ReCreating ‘My Ladies’ as….
Oh, My giddy Aunts!
Earlier in my career (1990’s - 2005) I painted a series of works inspired by getting the No 19 Bus through the poshest areas of London. (Battersea, Chelsea, Knightsbridge)
On these buses, I encountered a certain breed of woman. She was dripping in jewels, snootiest-of-snooty, larger than life, and completely inspiring in her total self-importance
I was completely in awe of them. A whole world away from my 20-year-old self, I found such joy in these beautiful Matriarchs and so began a full collection of watercolour paintings built solely around them.
(You can see some of these earlier works at the bottom of this page)
A little preview of how these new works are coming along…..
Below is a Gallery of Paintings from yester-year. I still receive emails asking me if these are available and I’m happy to say yes. I can make beautiful prints of them to order, both on canvas or paper, framed or unframed.
Please email me here to discuss.
